Cydney is a Southern California native that grew up participating in competitive cheerleading, dance, and gymnastics. She first became interested in physical therapy after dealing with multiple injuries of her own and had a dream of becoming a healthcare professional that worked specifically with female-dominant sports. She attended Mater Dei High School and competed on the varsity cheerleading team, helping to bring home 2 national championships. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Alabama where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She also completed a physical therapy internship in Thailand, where she spent a summer working with Thai national athletes. After graduating college, she returned home and began working as a PT Aide for OC Sports & Rehab in 2018.
In 2020, she went back to school to obtain her Physical Therapists Assistant’s license from Cerritos College. While in school, she had the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation at Rancho Los Amigos Rehab Hospital, where she worked with patients that had sustained neurological injuries such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, and brain injuries. She also had the unique opportunity to work on the post-covid rehab team during her time there. In the future, Cydney would love to specialize in treating young athletes from sports like the ones she grew up in, to rehab from their injuries and get them back to doing what they love. As a newly licensed PTA, Cydney is looking forward to participating in continuing education courses to continue to learn new techniques and skills to help patients from all walks of life. In her free time, Cydney enjoys trying out new recipes in the kitchen, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her siblings on the weekends. Cydney currently serves as both the practice manager and a licensed PTA and enjoys the opportunity of being able to do both on any given day.
